Wowsers! The summer is 1/2 way over and we've been having so much fun that I haven't slowed down to document any of it. I guess my goal for this week will be to play some summer time catch up and journal about what we've been doing as well as what we've been learning. Here goes June!
We started out the month celebrating my 28th Birthday! 28 isn't so bad even though it is one year closer to 30! I love my life, especially my husband and children. They woke early to make me a yummy breakfast, decorated the dining room with Birthday decor and then after Dan got off work we went out for dinner at the Pizza Factory followed by a delicious home-made strawberry cake from Dan, a beautiful home-made tiara from Lydia and a fun family movie.I was also spoiled rotten a few weeks ago with a bike trailer to pull the kids in!I love being able to go exercise and entertain the kids with a ride at the same time! Definitely one of my favorite presents ever!
The next day (June 5th) was a beautiful occasion as Dan's little sister Amanda was sealed to her husband Joe in the St. George LDS Temple for Time and all Eternity! They have been married for six years and it was a joyous occasion to be with them in the temple! Here's some of the family after the sealing. Andrea, Me, Dan & Melinda. Bob, Marley, Amanda & Joe!Amanda asked me to take some pictures of everyone outside after the sealing which of course I was happy to do!
Amanda with her sisters Andrea & Melinda. Aren't they beautiful girls!"In thee my soul shall own combined the sister and the friend." ~Catherine Killigrew
"Sisters is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship." ~Margaret Mead
Some of the Riding's with some of the McNatt's.Joe with his Mom & Dad."Maintain an eternal perspective. Let there be a temple marriage in your future. There is no scene so sweet, no time so sacred as that very special day of your marriage. Then and there you glimpse celestial joy. Be alert; do not permit temptation to rob you of this blessing."~Thomas S. Monson"The only things you will take with you, when all is said and done, are your family relationships. . . . God bless us to be good fathers, . . . good parents, and good husbands to our good wives."~Gordon B. HinckleyApparently the dip was a popular pose!"Marriage is sanctified when it is cherished and honored in holiness. That union is not merely between husband and wife; it embraces a partnership with God (see Matt. 19:6)."~Russell M. Nelson“The most important single thing that any Latter-day Saint ever does in this world is to marry the right person, in the right place, by the right authority.”~Bruce R. McConkie"An eternal marriage is eternal. Eternal implies continuing growth and improvement. It means that man and wife will honestly try to perfect themselves. It means that the marriage relationship is not to be frivolously discarded at the first sign of disagreement or when times get hard. It signifies that love will grow stronger with time and that it extends beyond the grave. It means that each partner will be blessed with the company of the other partner forever and that problems and differences might as well be resolved because they are not going to go away. Eternal signifies repentance, forgiveness, long-suffering, patience, hope, charity, love, and humility. All of these things are involved in anything that is eternal, and surely we must learn and practice them if we intend to claim an eternal marriage."~F. Burton Howard
It was obviously a most beautiful day and a wonderful opportunity for Dan and I to sit in the temple where nine years ago we were sealed together for time and all eternity. I felt so much happiness and peace as I sat there holding his hand and reflecting on how much we've grown in our marriage. I'm so grateful we get to spend eternity together. It is certain to be a marvelous journey having Dan by my side!
