No More Room in the Womb!
Yes, today is June 21st, 2008. Not only is it my little sister's birthday, but MY DUE DATE! No I don't have any exciting news yet or pictures of a cute baby for you. Instead I have a HUGE belly and No More Room In The Womb! My belly feels so tight and I honestly can't imagine how it could possibly get any bigger. Sometimes when the baby is active and kicking around it feels like he's going to break right through my belly or at least tear apart all my muscles trying! According to yesterday's doctor appointment our little man is full term, full size and still way up high! He seems happy to be there! I guess my womb must be a wonderful place because Lydia was also in no hurry to come when we had her. She was four days late but I'm hoping he will decide to come sooner than that.
Lydia also can't believe how big my belly is getting. Sometimes she tries to push it over to the side when we're reading books because sitting on my lap is really getting difficult for her!

Instead of focusing on the frustrations of a late baby I'll try to come up with five postives to focus on instead. Feel free to add any you think I might have missed!
5. My sweet sister-in-law gave me a pedicure and painted darling little baby foot prints on them so at least I'll have cute feet when I do finally deliver(For now focus on the cute foot prints, not the swollen feet from being pregnant in the St.George heat)!

4. A little more time to enjoy life as a mother of one child and cherish all the tender little moments Lydia and I share together each day.
3. Enjoy going to the store with just one child (I still can't imagine trying to shop with two).
2. A few more uninterrupted nights of sleep!
1. I'd rather have a late healthy baby and a safe delivery than the alternative!

The Kirby Klan!
We enjoyed a wonderful visit from my sister Amy and her family this week. The only problem was that it went by way too fast. I wanted to post some of the pictures for the rest of the family of how cute they all are. They just moved from Hawaii, are spending a month in Utah and then fly off to India where they'll be living for a year. We will miss them dearly and as they drove away yesterday I cried at the thought of not seeing them for an entire year. We LOVE YOU KIRBYS! Thanks for taking the time to come and see us it meant so much!

Happy Fathers Day!
This post is dedicated to the Wonderful Father's in My Life! I love Father's Day because I have been so blessed to be surrounded by AMAZING Fathers. I especially am thankful for my dear husband Dan and the incredible father he is to Lydia. He works so hard to provide for our physical, spiritual and emotional needs and I must say he is a phenomenal provider! But more than provide he presides over our home with so much love and humility. He is so thoughtful and sincere and he is always there for us. I love to watch him play with Lydia. He adores her and she adores him. He can make her smile and laugh like nobody else. I hope she always realizes how lucky she is to have Dan for her Dad. Thanks for being a Fabulous Father Dan!
In our seven years of marriage we have always enjoyed celebrating Fathers Day and spoiling Dan but there is something that makes it more meaningful when you have a child of your own. This year was especially special because of the fun age Lydia is at. To listen to her sing "I'm so glad when Daddy comes home," in her cute little squeaky voice along with all the actions is precious. Dan's favorite part is when she sings "I pat his cheeks and give him what?" followed by an extra enthusiastic "WHAT?" and then a great big KISS! It was also funny to see her get so excited about giving him his card and telling him what his gifts were before he even opened them! But better than the gifts was the spontaneous and sincere "I WUV YOU DAD!" that she would tell him throughout the day!
This is for my hero, my Dad. The best father a kid could ever have. I Love You Dad! Love, Lydia

I just got off the phone with my daddy and it made me miss him like crazy. Any of you who know my Dad, David Bush, know what a remarkable man he is. But you probably can't even begin to comprehend what a Fantastic Father he is. He will forever be one of the greatest examples in my life. An example of faith, of forgiveness, of one who truly lives as a disciple of Christ. I am overwhelmed with tender memories that have made for a father/daughter relationship I long for all of my children to have. I miss reading stories together at night, playing games, PPI's, going for walks, National Weird Days, Saturday morning pancakes and listening to him play the piano while my sisters and I danced around the room, or while I drifted off to sleep. I LOVE YOU PAPA. THANK YOU!
I also love what a genuine and fun Grandfather my dad is. He takes time for each of his grandkids and I'm sure they all think they are his favorites because he dedicates so much love to each of them. I love how he gets down on the floor and just plays with them. He has also shared his talents with each of them by writing a beautiful song for each grandbaby. I often sing "Lydia's Love Song" that he wrote as her night time lullaby and I feel blessed.

My Father-in-law, Bob Riding, has also become one of the dearest Father's to me. He has loved and accepted me from day one and I treasure our friendship. I respect and admire his leadership and I miss him while he is away serving a mission in Guam. I love that we can tease each other and laugh a lot or just talk and listen. I look forward to more bonding talks on horse rides when he returns. I also appreciate the gentle love he invests in my Lydia. He is a wonderful father and friend. I love You Dad!

Finally, I am thankful for a Father in Heaven who I know loves me and has blessed me with all these incredible men who are living lives and leading families as the Father's he wants all to be.

Nesting Nut!
Yes, with only one week left before this baby is due I have become a Nesting Nut! I feel like I've been in the nesting phase for a month but the last few days I've hit a new high. I have not only cleaned every room in the house, but I have cleaned out and organized every room in the house. Today I even swept the garage, mowed the lawn and touched up some base board paint that has been bugging me since we moved in! It is like this weird obsession I feel everything has to be in order before the baby comes because I have a fear it won't be in order for some time after he comes! Life with two kids seems a little scary. Of course I am super excited but somedays I barely feel confident as a mother of one, how will I do it with two?!
Last week I finished the curtains in the Nursery so it is pretty much finished up now. I promised my sister I'd send some pictures. So below are some pictures of the baby's nursery and Lydia's room that we also did a couple months ago. Funny thing is that the curtains were the hardest part and most work for me to do on both rooms. I guess sewing is not my forte but I was pleased with how Lydia's turned out.

Kodak Moments are Suddenly So Much Fun!
So you may have heard me mention that I wasn't very smart in planning my anniversary only four days after my birthday. It squeezes two wonderful days of spoiling awfully close together. However, I have decided that it also has it's perks. For example last week I was spoiled with a totally awesome birthday gift, a NEW CAMERA! Normally I would have never allowed Dan to spend that much money on a birthday gift for me but of course he explained that it also counts as an anniversary gift and any other occasion that would have warranted a gift this year!

Isn't it awesome! We have really been wanting a digital SLR camera because we've been relying on our video camera to take still pics for the last year or more. The video camera is a 4mp where as this new one is a 10!
Ok, Here's evidence. Compare the old:
With the New!
Say Cheese!
Lookin' Groovy!
I just love this picture! Sweet little Toes!
Catching Bubbles!
Am I overwhelming you with pictures? Here are just a few more of Lydia playing at the park to show off why I love my new camera so much. I'm really excited we got it before the new baby comes!

Celebrating Seven Wonderful Years!
Today is our Seven Year Wedding Anniversary and I just wanted to post how sincerely HAPPY I am to be married to Dan! You hear people talk about seven years being a real marker for marriages. Many people refer to a "seven year itch" where couples tire of one another. All I have to say is sorry for them and their sad marriages because for us Seven Years Rocks! After seven years of marriage I am "itching" for more!

It really amazes me how fast seven years goes by. Seven years ago Dan and I were married for time and all eternity in the St.George, Utah Temple. We were so in love and couldn't imagine loving each other any more than we did right then. Now looking back it is incredible how much we have grown in love and life! We laugh because our love now is so much deeper and more mature. We know eachother so much better and never could have imagined how life would be for us or the joys we would experience together.
Last night my fabulous friend Katey and her husband Logan came over and babysat Lydia for us so that we could enjoy a date night celebrating our anniversary. Dan was so wonderful and resereved dinner for us at The Painted Pony (rated the #1 restaraunt in all of Southern Utah). When they took us to our table I notice an extremely lovely vase of roses. Then I noticed the little card had my name on it! They were huge gorgeous roses and there were seven of them (one for each year of marriage). Isn't Dan super thoughtful. Well all the women in the restaurant were jealous of me but I wasn't paying attention to them because Dan and I were having so much fun conversing and enjoying our dinner. Yes, dinner was fabulous and fancy, every aspect of it (it was one of those places you can only afford to go to once every year, or seven for that matter)! After dinner we went to a movie and got home late. It was a perfect celebration of a practically perfect life together! Thank you Dan for planning such a memorable evening and for being such a remarkable husband and father. I Love You and look forward to Forever with You!
