Today I woke feeling enthused and the most rested I have in the past two months. Why you might ask? Because my perfectly wonderful baby boy slept 8 hours through the night last night!!! Hooray for Emmett! Yesterday marked Emmett's two month birthday and he celebrated by sleeping through the night which obviously has given me great reason to celebrate! It is amazing how much better of a mom I am when I am rested. I am hoping this will be a trend he will continue. Lydia started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks so I have anxiously been awaiting Emmett's big night and he did it! I do give credit to "Babywise" the baby sleep book I read with both kids, but I especially give credit to my amazing baby and his wonderful behavior. Emmett is such a happy, content and well mannered baby and now he is sleeping through the night! What more could I ask for (well maybe that my belly would be beautiful and flat already!)?

p.s. It wasn't just a fluke, he did it again last night! Go Emmett Go!!

Childrens Corner
So I've decided to add a new element to my blog called The Childrens Corner. Well it's not really located in a corner, instead it is at the very bottom of my page. That way if you are interested in it you can check it out, if not you probably won't even notice it. The plan is I will make posts titled "Children's Corner" with info that is fun, interesting or anything I like pertaining to children. Then I will rotate the posts down to the element at the bottom of the page and update it every month. I will also add good stuff or advice from comments left about each post. Hopefully you will find it intersting or helpful, if nothing else maybe it will entertain you once in a while. Here's my first one.
My sister Chelsea actually shared this info but I thought it was awesome and know that some of you other moms will love it so here it is in her words:
Vicki Lewis (used to be in my ward here in Singapore) created these puzzles.Looks like a regular old puzzle right?

Whelp, take out the pieces and you have a lovely picture behind, and then (now this is the the cool part)...
Flip over the pieces and tada! All the pieces are characters to play with! I love it!
.
She started out with just this house idea but is moving on to others as well.
So creative! Check out her blog for more info or you can order them here http://shoponline.pfot.com/pfotnewproducts-ss3.html. She also said something about target.com or simply doing a google search. I know what I'm spending my mad money on soon!

Our Ghetto Fabulous Olympic Viewing!
So you're probably wondering what on earth this picture is of. That's right, it is our ghetto hook up to watch the Olympics. We don't have cable and our trusty bunny ears antenna that we found in our first apartment and have since used everywhere we've lived for the past 7 years, no longer works. You see our TV is in the basement in our home now and we haven't been able to get a single antenna to work. It hasn't been too big of a deal because we don't really watch much TV anyway. Since we haven't been watching any I have been amazed at how much more important things we get done and how much more fun and memorable time we spend with our kids and each other. It's great! There are times we wish we had TV like for our Church's General Conference (but we can watch it live on the Internet via BYU TV), or a sports game here and there and especially for . . . The OLYMPICS!
I grew up in a home big into the Olympics, we always watched them. For example we were never allowed to watch TV on Sunday's growing up. We could only watch church movies or The Sound of Music! The ONLY exception was the Olympics! So you can now understand why I was pretty bummed that we couldn't watch them. I figured it was really no Big Deal. After all, I could watch some replays on the Internet or go to a friends house if there was something I really wanted to see, but as of this past Friday I hadn't seen a single thing. I told Dan that I was bummed reading about all the exciting gymnastic events and Michael Phelps golds so he decided that we would find a way to watch the Olympics. He went and bought a new antenna that should do the job but it still wouldn't work in the basement. If you know my husband then you know that Dan is a determined soul. He carried our big old TV all the way up to the top floor and rigged up a lovely antenna via a ladder for the time being and in no time at all I was sitting in my bed watching Michael Phelps swim Friday night and win his 7th gold. I also enjoyed watching Saturday night when he won his 8th gold medal! How fun to witness history and how fun to watch the Olympics! Of course I am now waisting away my evenings in front of the television and what's worse is I'm sitting in bed doing it! Good thing the Olympics end this weekend so I will resume a more productive life and we'll also take down our ghetto set-up before the neighbors start to wonder about us!

Oh, Mountains Beautiful!
Two weekends ago we headed up to Heber canyon so I could attend an interpreting immersion weekend. I am currently involved in the ICAN program which helps interpreters advance their certification. I have really wanted to get certified and this program is amazing and finances everything. It only goes from May until Dcember so I would be crazy not to get involved. However after I had my sweet baby boy my focus changed and it was really hard to stay motivated. I am so thankful to have such an AMAZING husband. Dan has really been supportive and encouraging me to reach my goal of becoming certified and he's right, if I don't do it now I may never. Thanks to Dan for being so incredible and taking two days off of work to care for the kids so that I was able to take my test and attend the immersion weekend workshops. Of course I could never be away from my babies all day so thankfully we were able to stay with some dear friends the Lindsey's at their beautiful (and I mean BEAUTIFUL)home in Kamas. Their daughter Karen and I have been friends forever and it was really fun because she and her family were there that weekend as well. I was able to go to the workshops from 9 to 5 and then spend the evenings at their home with them and my family. They were the most thoughtful hosts and not only let us stay but fed us delicious meals. Lydia had a blast with their toys and most of all Karen's kids. Dan was a Super Dad and fed Emmett bottles I had pumped all day, changed diapers as well as feed and entertain Lydia. They went on a train ride on the Heber Creeper and played at the park! I've included some cute pictures below.
One thing we really loved was the cooler weather and the beautiful mountains. It was gorgeous to be up in the mountains and away from the hustle and bustle of life. I think we should all take time once in a while and escape to the mountains!

Emmett's Photo Shoot!
Although these pictures are a few weeks old I thought you'd enjoy seeing some of the fun pictures from our home spun photo shoot of Emmett. Isn't he darling! He was one month old when we took these and I owe a huge thanks to my amazing friend Jessica Dahlquist she brought the phone books, blanket back drops, had all the great ideas and took most of the pictures. We had so much fun I think taking pictures of babies could fast become a favorite hobby for me!
Fun Family Visits From Far & Wide
When my parents came down for Emmett's baby blessing we were talking about how awesome it was that they had been able to see all nine of their grandchildren within the last month. I then realized how lucky we had been to also have seen everyone. Lydia was able to see all of her cousins on both sides this summer. What a treat. I especially wanted to Shout Out a BIG THANK YOU to my siblings for making extra long drives from Logan to St.George to spend time with us. Due to the new baby we wouldn't have been able to see any of them while they were in Utah if it hadn't been for each of them taking the time to come and spend a few days with us. We treasured each of their visits and Lydia is still talking about all of her cousins. Now we just need to convince them to move closer so we can have this much fun year round!
In June I posted some pictures from the Kirby's visit but I wanted to post some pictures from my Sister April's visit and Elijah and Marinda's visit too. We had so much fun just being together, playing at parks, seeing plays at Tuachan and swimming! I included a cute picture of Emmett's first visit to the pool. Obviously he wasn't swimming but I thought his expression said a lot about what he thought about it!

Emmett's Baby Blessing
Today was a beautiful sabbath and a special one for all of us. Dan blessed Emmett at church today. My Dad, his brother's Mike and Brock, my brother-in-law Steve and our Bishop Clair Nelson all stood in the circle with him. The blessing was beautiful and as I listened and looked at our sweet baby boy I was reminded how blessed we are to have him in our family. He is a little bit of Heaven here on earth. Below are a bunch of pictures from today. I'll let you enjoy looking at them rather than writing a lot as I am super tired and have to hurry to bed so I can get some valuable sleep in before I have to wake up and feed the baby. Enjoy!
